We were the very first hose manufacturer to develop sensory hoses and hose systems with integrated life cycle tracking functions and a matching app under the name AMPIUS®.
This technology enables live monitoring of hoses and provides all the necessary data for predictive maintenance. We have now been granted an EU-wide patent for the innovative wear warning system: "The hose reports automatically when wear reaches a critical level," says Stefan Nüßen, Technology and Development at the Masterflex Group. Machine and system operators can thus check the condition of hose lines at any time and without cost-intensive removal of the part, react in good time and avoid possible consequential damage (including production downtime). Nüßen: "It also protects the environment, as the hose is only replaced when a failure is actually imminent."AMPIUS® is also the basis of another ambitious corporate goal of the Masterflex Group: under the name Hero@Zero, we have launched an initiative to pave the way for a closed-loop circular economy. By 2035, we want to transfer the production of hose and connection systems to a corresponding circular economy. Our products are to be designed and produced in such a way that they can be taken back, recycled and reused after use. AMPIUS® also supplies the data required for this.
