Masterflex Clip hoses with clamp profile spiral demonstrate their potential wherever hoses are exposed to extreme stresses as a result of specific application or ambient conditions. Not only aggressive media, explosive gases and very high temperature air can represent a threat to the integrity of hose connections. There are other stringent requirements that may need to be met depending on situation. Hoses used for asbestos removal, for example, must exhibit excellent low pressure resistance properties. And where hoses are laid along the ground in production facilities, there is always the danger of external factors causing mechanical damage while hoses employed in hazardous areas in which there is a risk of explosion must be constructed to ensure that they do not become charged with static electricity.
It is particularly in situations where problematic atmospheric, physical or chemical circumstances predominate that hoses that are appropriately constructed and made of exceptional materials come into their own. It is for use in such applications that Masterflex has specifically designed its extensive Clip hose range. These hoses are available in diameters of from DN 38 to DN 2000 mm.
The signature feature of our Masterflex Clip hose range is that we have combined our insight into material characteristics which we have obtained over many years with our established know how in the processing of hi-tech textiles. The special production process used for our Masterflex Clip range does not involve bonding, welding or stitching of coated technical textiles to form hoses; instead a special mechanical clamping process is used. The permanent form is achieved using clamp profiles made of steel, stainless steel or aluminium.
As the world market leader, we can provide customised solutions in the form of our single ply and multiply Clip hoses for use in a wide range of environments - in the chemical industry, in high temperature situations, for the removal of waste gases and in air-conditioning and ventilation equipment, to name just a few applications. Our hoses are also available in antistatic and electroconductive versions that conform to the requirements of the new TRGS 727 German guideline, which requires that technical hoses designed for use in areas with potentially explosive atmosphere must be subjected to specific forms of testing. In addition to hoses that can be used in such environments, also among the Clip range are hoses with external scuff protection systems. These have a carefully fitted scuff protection spiral that protects the hose sleeve against mechanical damage. The advantages of the Carflex series with their protective profiles are particularly recognised in the context of vehicle production plants. Masterflex also offers Clip hoses that are resistant to temperatures of up to 1100°C for use in low pressure applications. This extreme temperature-resistance is achieved by the use of several layers of special technical textiles and production processes adapted to the requirements of the hoses.
And the Clip hoses by Masterflex are not just resistant to chemicals, high temperatures and mechanical stresses; they are at the same time remarkably lightweight and flexible while exhibiting an unusual degree of compressibility. Clip hoses can be compressed by a ratio of up to 1:6, ensuring that they can be optimally packed, reducing the costs of storage and of shipment. Masterflex can also provide matching Clip Grip hose connecting clamps so that our Clip hoses can be rapidly and easily installed.
