This year we donated 400 chocolate Santas and a check for 2.100 Euros to the Gelsenkirchener Kindertafel. Hartwig Szymiczek, Managing Director of the Tafel, Chairwoman Christine Bartsch and a long-time volunteer accepted the donations.
Every year, the "Kindertafel" traditionally organizes special Christmas bags with sweet treats for children from needy families. Our chocolate Santas, along with other food items, have already been distributed to 2.500 local households - and were probably snacked on soon after.
Sales director Mirko Alexander Baldus presented a check for 2.100 Euros to the Gelsenkirchener "Kindertafel". The money will go towards the new "Children's Clothes Closet" project: From January, clothing, shoes, toys and books will be distributed to disadvantaged children in Gelsenkirchen's old town.
We know that our donations in kind and money are in good hands at the "Kindertafel" - and will benefit the weakest in society, children from disadvantaged families.
Gelsenkirchen is not only the headquarters of our group of companies, we also feel a connection to this region and it is a particular concern of ours to make a positive difference locally.
About the "Kindertafel":
Due to demand from social institutions and schools, Gelsenkirchener Tafel e.V. has established a "Kindertafel" department. The "Kindertafel" aims to improve the living conditions of children from poor families within the scope of its possibilities. Current projects are the "Initiative Pausenbrot", children's cooking classes or the "Children's Clothes Closet".
