Gelsenkirchen, August 29, 2012 - Masterflex AG has been awarded the "Family-friendly company 2012" seal by the Gelsenkirchen Alliance for Families. This was in recognition of the practice of family-friendly working time models and emergency arrangements (keyword: illness, missed classes) that has been in place at Masterflex for many years. The aim is to enable employees to reconcile work and family life.
Ole Stein, Business Unit Manager in Gelsenkirchen: "We are delighted about every employee who has and is raising children. Our appreciation of family work is expressed in the fact that we offer flexible working hours tailored to individual cases. Depending on the wishes of the employee bringing up the children, this can range from a temporary break to part-time options (5, 10 or 20 hours a week) as well as the completion of tasks in a home office. And we also offer these options for management functions. After a few years of practice, we can say that our experience with these models has been good all around."
The listed company's commitment to family matters also has tangible economic reasons. Stein: "Competition for qualified personnel will increase in the coming years. Many young people today are paying more attention to the balance between work and family. If we want to attract good personnel for our global expansion plans, we have to present good offers for employees."
The Gelsenkirchen Alliance is a group of players from business, politics and society moderated by the city. The jury for the "Family-Friendly Company" award is basically made up of representatives from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the district crafts association, the trade union and the city of Gelsenkirchen.
