HYCHAIN Minitrans - Pictures of the contract signing on January 31, 2005
Masterflex AG will deliver Cargobikes (light vehicles) with fuel cell drive within the EU project HYCHAIN MINITRANS. On Tuesday, January 31, 2005, Detlef Herzog, Chairman of the Board of Masterflex AG, signed the contract in the presence of representatives of the EU Commission and the participating regions in Brussels.
The transnational HYCHAIN MINITRANS project is intended to demonstrate innovative and sustainable alternatives to the heavily oil-dependent transport industry and to create possible applications for selected transport applications. In particular, it includes the operation of 150 fuel cell-powered small and light vehicles as well as the generation, storage and logistical distribution of hydrogen. European test regions are the Ruhr area (Germany), the Grenoble metropolitan area (France), Modena (Italy) and Castilla y Leon (Spain). Masterflex AG plans to deploy at least forty of its "Cargobike" cargo cabs in the four regions.
