Masterflex AG, Gelsenkirchen - June 20, 2012
On Wednesday, June 20, the RWE company run took place in Essen for the second time in a row. More than 5000 runners had registered in advance for the Essen company run. The course was over 5.6 kilometers long from the start on Huyssenallee, via Rüttenscheider, Magdalenen and Ursula streets to the finish in the Grugapark. Masterflex once again demonstrated its sporting spirit and competed against the other companies as a team consisting of 10 colleagues from administration, sales and production.
After a short preparation at the Grugabad in Essen and a march to the starting area about 5 kilometers away, the starting signal was given at 7:00 p.m. and Team Masterflex ran in the direction of the Grugapark. All team members reached the finish line with good running times. However, the focus of this event was not on achieving best times or winning, but rather on the team spirit that Masterflex always demonstrates, as well as the good cause for which Team Masterflex took to the starting line.
"We want to make a contribution and support a charitable institution from the region," said team captain Ole Stein, HTS business unit manager at Masterflex AG. "For every kilometer run, we donate 10 euros to the Gelsenkirchener Kindertafel". 560 euros have thus been collected and are to be handed over to the Kindertafel in the next few days.
A nice thought, for which it is worthwhile to break a sweat, thinks the runner team of Masterflex AG and is already looking forward to the next run, which will surely come next year.
