Masterflex presents hoses for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry at ACHEMA 2012

ACHEMA 2012, which is considered the world forum for chemical engineering and the process industry, begins on June 18, 2012. More than 4,000 exhibitors from 50 countries will again attract numerous visitors to the exhibition grounds in Frankfurt.

Masterflex AG from Gelsenkirchen, Germany, will also be exhibiting again this year together with Rala GmbH & Co. KG in Hall 8 at Stand C 36. On more than 100 square meters and 2 floors, interested trade visitors can find out about hoses and connection systems especially for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. For these industries in particular, Masterflex offers a wide range of products consisting of suction and transport hoses, which, when combined with the appropriate connection and joining elements, represent a complete solution for the customer. Everything from a single source, uncomplicated and close to the customer, that is the advantage Masterflex offers its customers.

This year's focus of the trade fair is on the presentation of hoses from the Master-PUR and Master-Clip series. Especially in the chemical industry, when it comes to extracting aggressive vapors, conventional hoses quickly reach their limits. The chemical, wood, paper, paint and pharmaceutical industries often generate vapors that pose a major challenge to the hose. Such conditions can cause conventional hoses to completely decompose or harden under certain circumstances, rendering them unusable. Masterflex offers the solution for these extreme requirements, for example with the Master-Clip PTFE! This hose variant is particularly suitable for the extraction of aggressive media. The Master-Clip PTFE is particularly resistant to cold and heat and can be used extremely flexibly due to the smallest bending radii. The hose wall consists of an anti-adhesive glass fabric coated on both sides with PTFE. This ensures optimum media flow. A clamping profile helix made of hot-dip galvanized steel strip also protects the weather-resistant hose from external wear. The Master-Clip PTFE is also offered as an antistatic variant for use in accordance with TRBS 2153 (zone 0.20) for combustible dusts and gases, for dissipating electrostatic charges, and thus expands the range of applications for this high-quality hose series.

Among other product variants, the Master-Clip Kapton® will be presented. This can be used in a similar way to Master-Clip PTFE, but has a much wider temperature range. This ranges from -260 °C to +400 °C, whereas the Master-Clip PTFE can withstand temperatures from -150 °C to +250 °C. The Master-Clip Kapton® can be used in a similar way to the Master-Clip PTFE, but has a much wider temperature range.

The Clip series is completed by the Master-Clip Viton® EL and the Master-Clip Vinyl EL, which are variations on the range of chemical-resistant suction and blower hoses.

Where particularly problematic, highly abrasive materials have to be conveyed, the hoses of the Master-PUR series come into play. These have good chemical resistance and are available in a wide range of wall thicknesses, giving them extremely abrasion-resistant properties. The Master-PUR Inline with a largely smooth inner wall, for example, is ideal for transporting highly abrasive media. It offers optimum flow properties and, thanks to the low frictional resistance inside the hose, it scores with long service lives. This protects not only the media to be conveyed but also the hose itself.

Masterflex is also entering the race with the Master-PUR Food hose series especially for the pharmaceutical industry. The materials used meet all current national and international food regulations. The basis for assessing the suitability of plastics for direct contact with foodstuffs is the Consumer Goods Ordinance or Directive 2002/72/EC and its latest amending directives. The plastics used in this hose series also comply with the regulations of the USA, as the raw materials and additives used by Masterflex are included in the FDA's lists of approved substances. The Master-PUR Food hose series equally fulfills all the positive characteristics of the regular Master-PUR series and also still offers the best hygienic conditions according to European standards.

Notice:

Masterflex AG generally produces food hoses and hose connection systems in compliance with GMP "Good Manufacturing Practice", EU Directive 2023/2006EC, which stands for good manufacturing practice. This directive requires special measures for quality assurance and documentation of various items and raw materials that come into direct or indirect contact with food during the production chain. These measures are intended to ensure that no substances that are hazardous to health or alter foodstuffs are released at any time. Masterflex works and produces according to this principle in order to meet the highest quality requirements in the food segment.
