Masterflex presents a world first at FAKUMA
Gelsenkirchen, October 4, 2006. Masterflex AG (ISIN DE0005242938), specialist for customized system solutions made of high-tech plastics, will be presenting a world first with its Master PUR Inline hose at the FAKUMA international trade fair for plastics processing, which will be held in D-Friedrichshafen from October 17 to 21, 2006.
The new milestone in the plastic hose sector is hose types made of abrasion-resistant polyurethane (PUR for short), whose service life can hardly be surpassed and which are thus comparable to a flexible steel pipe. This revolutionary quantum leap in hose technology is the result of a special, patented manufacturing process: Masterflex is the first manufacturer able to produce hoses with a unique inline lining. The hoses are manufactured without internal weld seams and corrugated valleys and are therefore, on the one hand, absolutely smooth on the inside, and on the other hand, enormous wall thicknesses of up to 10 mm are achieved. Another unique feature is the extremely high pressure resistance. Due to these properties, unique service lives are achieved, making them particularly suitable for transporting extremely abrasive media such as gravel, cement or cullet. Masterflex supplies the matching connecting elements at the same time, thus enabling the user to install them quickly and easily.

Customer satisfaction with the high standard of Masterflex products is underlined by the latest business figures of the listed group. Sales in the High-tech Hose Systems business unit climbed significantly at the end of the first half of 2006 compared with the previous year. The company sees this positive development continuing until the end of the year, as more and more customers are also relying on Masterflex AG products internationally. "We are expanding in Eastern Europe and the USA in particular," explains Detlef Herzog. Only recently, a framework agreement was concluded with a major US purchasing association with the prospect of an additional order volume in the up to seven-digit range in 2007.
