18.09.03 - Masterflex AG will be presenting its first near-series prototype of a hydrogen-based fuel cell at the stand of the NRW State Initiative on Future Energies in Hamburg from October 9 to 11, 2003. The prototype, which was shown at CEBIT and the Hanover Fair in the spring, has since been significantly improved. For example, the size of the fuel cell stack has been reduced by 50%. The fuel cell with external storage now on display can be used universally. It has a continuous output of 50 watts and reaches 90 watts at peak. The weight has been significantly reduced and is now 3.4 kg. The duration of use depends only on the storage tank. Masterflex AG relies on demand-driven and customized development of PEM fuel cells of different power levels, innovative control electronics and state-of-the-art metal hydride hydrogen storage. The company is very confident that it will be able to start marketing environmentally friendly fuel cells as early as 2004.
