The aim of an energy audit is to gain a better understanding of potential savings and to be able to exploit them in a more targeted manner. To achieve this, the main energy flows of a company are recorded and analyzed by auditors.
Plant manager Robin Huth: "The result showed that the Gelsenkirchen site is already very well positioned. We have initiated many important investments and projects in the technical and administrative areas to reduce the company's overall energy consumption."
These include:
2016 Modernization of lighting
2017 Heat recovery production hall 1
2017 Renewal of heating and circulation pumps
2017 Heat recovery new building
2017 Compressed air preparation and treatment/storage, higher-level control system
2017 Lighting, motion detectors
2017 Waste heat recovery refrigeration plant
2017 Area separation of warehouse and production areas with roller doors
2017 Automatic gate closing systems
2017 Temperature reduction (production, warehouse)
2021 Regular leakage measurement of compressed air
2022 Photovoltaic system
Further measures are currently underway or in the planning phase. These include the use of smart heating thermostats and window contacts (implementation almost complete), the installation of motion detectors in the annex and circular building, and the review of the expansion of the photovoltaic system.
Sustainability in companies goes far beyond a paperless office and avoiding waste. Rather, there are three components: ecological, economic, social. Sustainable development fundamentally means structures that are sustainable indefinitely, have sufficient resources and make the company fit for the future.
We are staying tuned to the topic of sustainability!
