Novel PO hoses at Anua FoodTec

Masterflex AG presents novel Master-PO-Food hoses with improved flexibility and increased temperature resistance in Cologne, Germany

Gelsenkirchen, April 29, 2006

At Anuga FoodTec 2006, Masterflex AG will be presenting the new Master-PO-Food hoses to the international food technology industry in Cologne in Hall 10.1 at Stand G 64. Following consistent further development of the raw materials, these hose types are now characterized by improved flexibility as well as higher temperature resistance up to +80 °C (previously up to +65 °C).

The hose is made of a special food-grade polyolefin material with a firmly cast VA stainless steel spiral. The materials used comply with all major food regulations, such as EC Directive 2002/72/EC, FDA regulations 21 CFR 176.170, and BfR, Recommendation XXI (Consumer Goods Ordinance based on natural and synthetic rubber). Thus, this hose meets the high requirements of the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the tobacco industry and the chemical industry.

The suction and transport hoses are odorless and tasteless and free of hazardous plasticizers. Due to the largely smooth surface structure on the inside, they are optimally designed in terms of flow.

Master PO hoses are available as standard from DN 32 to DN 200 in light and medium-weight grades and in standard lengths of 10m. Heavier grades as well as special lengths are also available from the manufacturer on request.

The material is approved for aqueous, acidic and alcoholic media. Due to the good resistance of the polyolefin to acids, salts and alkalis or even to hydrolysis, the hoses can therefore be used where polyurethane cannot be used due to its chemical resistance.
