Gelsenkirchen, 24.07.07 Masterflex AG considers itself to be excellently positioned in the market for light mobile vehicles as a result of the major order for the delivery of 14,000 electric bicycles, which was announced on Friday, July 20, 2007. Production and delivery of the bicycles will take place in Germany, with deliveries starting around November 2007 and scheduled to be completed by summer 2008. With this order, Masterflex AG is demonstrating its position as a leading supplier of drive systems for electric vehicles.
At the same time, projects relating to the Cargobike are being driven forward. Mini-series production was started this summer. Up to twenty Cargobikes are already scheduled to be in use at the International Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin at the end of August/beginning of September. In order to push ahead with series production as planned, the Technology department has been expanded by additional employees in the area of fuel cell technology.
