At the meeting point of the stone elephant in the main entrance area of the ZOOM Erlebniswelt in Gelsenkirchen, the start of the shift was rung at 7:00 a.m. in the middle of the Ruhr area, in real muddy weather. Masterflex CEO Dr. Andreas Bastin and Managing Director European Sales Christian Horstkötter showed that they not only look good in suits and ties, but also when it comes to mucking out animal enclosures.
From porcupines to giraffes - our Masterflex animals scampered through the enclosures when they visited the nationally renowned zoo and took part in a several-hour animal keeper taster course. They carried buckets of feed, swept hay, prepared food and mucked out the enclosures. Our tall animals were very enthusiastic and gave the zoo inhabitants a few strokes here and there. The two participants learnt a lot from the zookeepers about the lives and care of the animals. They showed an interest not only in the zoo's exotic residents, but also in the challenges and responsibilities that come with being a zookeeper.
"Big Shots on the beat" describes the commitment of Dr. Andreas Bastin and Christian Horstkötter as part of the employee recruitment campaign "Together as a team". Our tall Masterflex animals proved that everyone at Masterflex lends a hand. This mentality is highly valued in the Ruhr region and at Masterflex. The shared experience makes it clear to potential applicants how important it is to take on responsibility and work actively for the common good. This extraordinary commitment to work also shows that flat hierarchies, human interaction and a real "we" mentality prevail at Masterflex. Together as a team.
