Rapid curve technology - Master-PROTECT pipe bends

Fast-paced curve technology- PU-lined Master-PROTECT pipes and pipe bends remain on target and on course for success.

Gelsenkirchen, October 5, 2006

Pipe and hose lines are the lifelines of many production plants. A plant transporting bulk materials stands and falls with the availability and reliability of a pneumatic conveying system. Especially the wear-critical areas of the pipe bends repeatedly lead to expensive production downtimes.

Based on many years of expertise and experience with polyurethane systems (PUR) in bulk material conveying, Masterflex AG has developed and patented the "Master-PROTECT" pipe elbow and has been using it successfully in a wide variety of industries for many years. The compact pipe elbow achieves up to 15 times the service life of a standard pipe elbow.

The pipes and pipe bends are lined with polyurethane (PUR) wear protection and thus not only have a much longer service life, but the pipe bends also have significantly lower pressure losses and a lower risk of clogging than conventional steel pipe bends. This has been confirmed by independent tests carried out by the Technical University of Braunschweig.

In addition to variable installation positions, the Master-PROTECT pipe bend offers good chemical and corrosion resistance, no carryover of conveyed material, and a streamlined design. Another significant advantage is the easy substitution into already existing piping systems.

All advantages at a glance:

  • more wear-resistant than steel bends
  • significantly lower pressure losses, e.g. in deflection or baffle pots
  • reduced risk of clogging due to lower (!) braking of the conveyed material
  • no entrainment of conveyed material
  • less stress on the downstream pipelines
  • due to shortened calming sections at the outlet
  • excellent protection against corrosion and noise emissions
  • easy substitution into existing pipe systems
  • significantly longer service life than standard pipe bends
  • lower operating costs due to longer maintenance intervals

The pipe bend can be purchased completely ready for installation in the many different areas of pneumatic conveying.
