"We are glad that we can do something good again in 2017 and bring in a tidy sum of money," says Littmann.
This year, employees of the world market leader for highly specialized hose and connection solutions got out of their office chairs to run for a good cause - twice now. In September, 16 employees competed in the "B2Run" in Gelsenkirchen; and six employees took part in the "Color Obstacle Rush" in Essen for the first time. Both runs covered a distance of around 6 kilometers. As a thank you for their sporting commitment, Masterflex SE donated €100 to the Gelsenkirchen Kindertafel for each employee who took part in the runs.
The Masterflex Group's donation to the Gelsenkirchen Kindertafel is already a tradition. "The donation is in good hands there," says Littmann. Background: the Kindertafel currently delivers 550 snacks with fruit or vegetable side dishes to Gelsenkirchen elementary schools every day. "We are able to provide this service at a low cost thanks to voluntary work. Nevertheless, a bread package costs us around 33 cents, which we finance exclusively through donations," says Hartmut Szymiczek, managing director of the Tafel, and is pleased: "The Masterflex donation therefore secures more than 6,600 school bread portions."
