The fuel cell for two wheels from the Gelsenkirchen-based company can supply an electric bicycle with energy in such a way that the bicycle can travel up to 250 kilometers. Conventional rechargeable batteries were just enough for a tenth of the distance. The test phase of the fuel cells is to be completed in 2005 and then they are to be produced initially in small series. Masterflex AG has not only set the pace in this development, the Gelsenkirchen-based company has also really stepped on the pedals in its operating business.
