Avoiding temperature losses - Master-Clip thermal insulation hoses from Masterflex AG make it possible

Masterflex AG, Gelsenkirchen - October 2009

For the transport of gaseous media - without achieving large temperature losses - Masterflex AG offers suitable customer solutions for individual applications with Master-Clip thermal and insulating hoses.

Master-Clip thermal and insulating hoses are manufactured individually according to customer requirements and specially adapted to individual applications. The hoses are used wherever gaseous media have to be transported over a certain distance with the lowest possible temperature losses. The properties of the thermal and insulating hoses depend on the materials used for the inner and outer hoses. Tailor-made solutions with optimum insulation thickness in different material constructions are offered even for the most unusual customer requirements.

Depending on the application, the following standard hoses from the Masterflex hose range can be used:

  • Air-conditioning, ventilation and welding fume hoses.
  • Medium and high temperature hoses up to +1,100 °C
  • Chemical hoses
  • Exhaust gas hoses
  • Vulcanized temperature hoses up to +250 °C
  • Antistatic and electrically conductive hoses
  • Abrasion resistant hoses

In contrast to rigid piping, the thermo-insulation hoses are flexible and in some cases highly flexible, and are capable of optimally minimizing noise, vibrations and temperature losses.

"Our strength lies in our very broad range of products" explains Alfons Beitz, sales manager for high-tech hoses at Masterflex AG. "For example, the spectrum of our hose systems ranges from temperature ranges of -260 °C to high temperatures of up to +1,100 °C. The areas of application for all our thermal and insulating hoses are extremely diverse," Beitz continued. "They can be used in air-conditioning and ventilation technology, in many areas of conveyor technology in mechanical or vehicle engineering, or in areas of heat and cold protection systems."

Technical data on the thermal and insulating hoses at a glance:

Master-Clip thermal and insulating hoses, for example, are available in diameter ranges from DN 38 to DN 1,000 and up to a max. length of 4 meters, depending on the hose type, and naturally include various connection and joining elements that enable the hoses to be connected directly. The design-related external scuff protection spiral made of galvanized steel strip or VA strip simultaneously provides a high level of external scuff protection when used on the ground.

Material: inner and outer hose: standard hoses from the Master-Clip, Master-PUR or the rest of the hose range - all combinations are possible

Insulation: asbestos-free insulation materials

Properties: depending on the materials used for the inner and outer hoses

  • low heat radiation
  • good structure-borne sound insulation
  • flexible
  • external anti-chafing spiral
  • Tension-proof connection of conversion and spiral by special clamping method with the Master-Clip hoses
  • highest abrasion resistance with Master-PUR hoses

Temperature range: depending on the materials used for the inner and outer hose from -260°C to + 1,100°C

Diameter: DN 38 to DN 1,000, almost all intermediate dimensions available

Production lengths: standard up to 4 m, special lengths on request
