Masterflex AG, Gelsenkirchen - April 22, 2010
Masterflex AG participated again this year in the nationwide campaign "Girls'Day" - the girls' future day, which took place nationwide today. Five girls of class 9.1 of the comprehensive school Gelsenkirchen-Buer had the opportunity to get to know the different professional areas of an internationally active industrial company for one day.
After a detailed tour of the Masterflex AG plant, the five girls took a close look at all the company's departments in the form of a company rally. Through personal discussions with the employees and specific and also tricky questions about the individual departments, they were able to get to know areas such as Technology, Warehouse & Shipping, Purchasing, Sales, Marketing and Investor Relations, as well as the tasks of an Executive Board member. Practical experience was the focus of this day. Using various examples, the participants experienced how interesting and exciting these different jobs can be.
Why a future day for girls?
Once a year, "Girls' Day" offers schoolgirls in grades 5 to 10 the opportunity to get to know the world of work and gain an insight into a wide range of professions, particularly in the technical and scientific fields. Girls' Day" pursues the goal of significantly broadening girls' spectrum of career choices through contacts between schoolgirls and the working world. Girls should be encouraged to make use of the diversity of their talents and also to take an interest in careers in new, promising industries.
